In July 2022, ceremonies and activities to honor His Majesty the King’s birthday were held in Temporary Shelters and nearby communities, by Government and non-government organizations such as COERR as well as community members, as below.

   COERR Kanchanaburi, in coordination with all involved, organized the stage ceremonies to honor His Majesty the King in Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter in Kanchanaburi Province on 27 July 2022 and in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter in Ratchaburi Province on 28 July 2022, respectively. The graceful events were attended by many authorities, organizations and community members.

   In addition to the stage ceremonies, COERR Kanchanaburi also donated 1,000 seedlings, mainly edible crops that produce fruits and leaves for food, to Government, non-governmental organizations and community members in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter to plant in community vicinities and around houses. There were many participants in the tree donation activity.

   On July 27, 2022, a wetland tree planting to honour H.M. the King was launched at Ban Klo Tor Village, Mae Chan Subdistrict, Umphang District, Tak Province. In this event, COERR Mae Sot, government agencies, local authorities concerned as well as refugees in Ban Nupo Temporary Shelter’s communities, numbering 250 persons jointly planted several kinds of perennial seedlings to conserve wetland and reduce soil erosion in this water source forest.

   On July 28, 2022, COERR Mae Hong Son donated 700 seedlings and trees of bamboo, Indian gooseberry, tamarind, jackfruit, etc. and, together with the local authority and residents of Ban Mai Nai Soi Temporary Shelter, plant them on the road side and entrance of the center. On this special occasion, road repairs and overgrown grass cutting were made for easy and safe driving to the Shelter.
